GUESS WHAT! The tank (and sending unit and new rubber lines) are all IN! I think it is running even better than it was before, AND the fuel gauge WORKS!. Now I need to get tit out and stress test her to see if we are still having the same problem of cutting out after running flawlessly for about an hour (~30 miles or so in stop & go traffic). Will keep the thread posted.
Next steps: New fuel filter (not going ANYWHERE without replacing that first), new plugs (I have NGK's to install), and an oil change.
