Guess when Highland Park bought Southfield here's where the Jean Machine idea came from :)

I see at least one clone of these cars at every show i attend. Like the color too. I'm thinking it's a real Max. Otherwise it would br bright red!

Not much out there on the jean pick up. Its very cool, 1st time seeing that one.

GT-115, Anyone ever see this prototype? Did it ever make it into limited production?

1958 plymouth silver special

source: Plymouth Advertisements for the 1958 Model Year

The Savoy, also in its fifth year of production, was Plymouth’s mid-line priced vehicle. Three trims were available in 1958 — 2-door and 4-door hardtop, and a 4-door sedan. And then there’s the Plaza, which was the entry-level model for 1958 (its last year of production). Buyers had a 2-door Club sedan or 2-door Business Coupe to choose from, as well as a “Silver Special” edition with a custom silver paint job and silver spear.

Cool old commercial for Plymouth.

another site had this almost a decade ago:

I was looking through old photos. This might be a stretch, a mid-season "Spring Edition" color of Paris Rose, but definitely rare top of the line, 1958 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer Super D-500. Now that's a mouth full.

I know the Le Femme was listed on the first page but here is one I personally took.

From another thread but seems it should be here too. The BS Flags were about to fly .. until the data rescued us from a rabbit hole :).

A 1973 Fury I with a Slant 6. But this Slanty was a Taxi. Apparently a couple thousand made that year. Havent yet that I recall seen a CIVI (non-fleet) example of a six cylinder C body.

hey carmine? if any one of us here, likely you have something on this one? :)

To be fair, the "GT-115" was a decade before my time with Chrysler. There were factory turbo vans, but they were not marketed from a "performance" angle. Individual people have gone there.

The GT-115 looks like it's just a magazine "project" car. Don't see any Chrysler involvement other than the Shelby garage help with tuning.

A little misleading... Nothing to do with the purchase of AMC, which occurred in 1987.

c'mon man, EZ on the "editing". it was tongue-in-cheek remark .. hence the smiley face .. AMC did it five years before chrysler was the point

I WORKED on that deal (advisory team -- i never worked at chrysler) in 1987 -- know a LOT about it --and it definitely had nuthin to do with Levi's

Keep in mind you have people reading these pages who haven't heard of Jimmy Durante; that's all I'm sayin'.

However, since you mention it... Tell us what you know about this deal (even if in another thread):

Amc To Build 200,000 Chryslers In Kenosha, Recall Workers

For some reason, it has always fascinated me. I think it's because it reminds me of a bygone era when Chrysler's top execs were focused on building the company. I hate to say that in more recent times it's more about finding ways to rationalize tooling costs, vs. building the best product. :(

Love this line from the linked article:

Gerald Greenwald, chairman of Chrysler Motors Corp., said: ``With the Omni and Horizon we have another problem similar to our rear-drive [M-body] cars, rising sales but a lack of assembly capacity. We can produce 300,000 of those cars but could sell many more.

Sigh.

Theres one . Doug has the other, I think his is black. He also owns a Navajo Newport, one of the nicest
I still have my 73 Dodge Polara Spring Special. It is black on black with the white plaid interior. I have collected alot of parts to restore it. Body is in good condition. Found 5 correct wheel covers for it which are impossible to find. Also found an nos dash in Canada! Resto is slow and figure another 2 years to do. I work 7 days a week and finding time is hard! It will get done and I hope one day to drive it to Carlisle!
