The weather here in the Puget Sound is getting a bit nicer. Last weekend I took the Monaco for a spin. When I got back I was looking in the engine bay, for something else which I now forget, when I saw some (brake) fluid on the bottom half of the vacuum booster. Not good. So I got her in to a local brake shop last Tuesday and got her back on Thursday with a new master cylinder, 2 new wheel cylinders on the fronts. The rear pads were 95% left and the fronts were about 50% left. You can see the staining from the fluid on the booster housing. The brake shop said the booster was okay.
Today I finally got around to replacing the rear left brake capsule with one I found last year at a junkyard in Portland, Oregon. You see the old one resting on the trunk deck. The second photo shows the crack in the old lense, which is why I replaced it. All for now!
