From what I see, your camshaft along with that lifter are both Junk. from One thing for sure is THAT lifter did not rotate.

I have to agree ...... If you don't replace the cam now it won't be long and you'll be doing the job again. And the material that is missing from that lifter is still in the engine somewhere.
