storage:

He nailed or otherwise mounted up that transverse 2x4

what's that for Bob support? Shelf or bracket or something on the inside to support the A/C?

I do appreciate the support. I am glad I am not selling a car on here, dam. I was having one of those days when nothing went right. I tried bolting the 2x4 to the outside of the shed, but my screws were not long enough. I used 1x2 to bolt to my existing shed and then screwed the 2x4 to the 1x2. Of course I couldn't find the tools I needed, hence the small shed. I was soaked to my undies in sweat. hopefully I will get a little bit done today. Be gentle.

It depends on the year.
In the Formals, the compressor bracket is in the way.
On my '67, the compressor bracket wasn't.
The T-stat change in the Newport was less than 15 minutes.
EVERYTHING is harder in a Formal.
It separates the men from the little boys.... :poke:

I am finally building something the store crap in. I am sick of tripping over everything in my shed. I am going to attach it to the shed and have a little place on can put things that won't get destroyed. I will make it strong because hurricane season starts very soon. Wish me luck. Oh yeah, it is f'in hot out.:icon_ncool:

You're a better man than me. I no longer start projects in the summer. I prefer to try out beach chairs....see which one I like best.

Yes, those are footings. I may keep it open, I haven't decided. I can't build it permanent, I didn't get a permit, and if the code nazies find out, I may have to take it down. Bastards. Did I say it was f'in HOT!!!

Maybe, maybe not. . . . . . Depends on the inspectors and their interpretation of the codes.. Great idea but please support the center of that wall, without a header in there reaching out over the footings....its gonna sag, I'm sorry, don't wanna see you waste time and money.

Looking good Dave! Space is at a premium.Maybe you should have built a second level onto that shed! lol. I used to have a few of those portable garages from Harbor Freight but the ones they sell now are not long enough and too tight inside.Maybe you can build something off the side of your shed using removeable piping and a tarp.I'm thinking of doing something similar to gain a little more space.

There is nothing supporting the bottom of the wall except your footings at both ends of the wall.. Your roof is being supported by that wall so the weight of the wall and roof are all resting on that bottom plate (2 x 4).. Without support under that whole wall (footing) it will sag, eventually. A header at the top of the wall going from end to end will carry your weight of the roof above and transfer that weight to your footings below.
A header with minimal weight such as what you have could be something as minimal as 2 2x6s nailed together flat to flat. ( 2x8s would be better) and the studs underneath become nailers for your sheathing and nothing more......
