**** storm

My '70 Challenger vert had the same ball/button shifter, without the "Slap Stick" graphics, but it was a 318 base model, 904 trans. My '72 340 had the T handle with the "Slap Stick". Broke two of those shifters taking the words literally, hell, they were only plastic held on by a single screw. Back in the late 70's it was never a problem finding replacements in the junk yard from any '71-'74 consoled Mopar.

Where have you found a '71 - '74 "B" or "E"-body in a junkyard that actually had anything left on it, in the last 15 years???

Where I got all of my e body stuff! That 67 newyorker that I bought for parts for my fury! Id be glad to trade it for a Cbody console!!

My 73 Ralleye Challenger 340 had a plastic t-handle shifter that broke several times. It has a set screw that would hold in place. That screw would come loose and fall out and when you pushed the side button shift the damn whole thing would jump up and akmost make it impossible to shift and drive.I still miss that damn car!

Nothing says you have to settle on that number, don't cash the check thou. Call and complain to anyone at the insurance company who will listen.
If the check is going to the body shop, it still has to be done to your satisfaction.

Oh... Maybe the adjuster should talk to Murray Park and find out what those parts will cost. I can picture body work, and paint being close to that, but not with the replacement parts needed.

It's not based on the value of the car.
It's what they say it can be fixed for.
Just the damage, nothing more.

That's just it.
The adjuster was just pulling the aprox. price of parts out of an insurance database.
He turned in a figure and case closed for him.
Now the insured has to lv. a thousand voice mails.

The sad thing is if you wanted a good replacement bumper the derby guys hoard them. And hunt for them like gold. Murray, or a guy who has one in his back yard are your only option to re chrome straighten
