Thanks, I inspected the other 3 tires, they look normal, didn't see anything unusual, and have the proper psi. I have a set of roadwheels and tires that are going on in a couple of weeks.
I would have not wanted to be there had you just threw on the Road Wheels and that happened.

Those are caps.I see trucks loose piece of tire like that all the time. I ran over a good size chunk of rubber last year on the way to Carlisle after a truck in front lost part of it. Scared the living **** outta me.
If you had been on time that wouldnt have happened
Those are caps.
Those chunks left on the road are called gators.
Glad there was no damage Bob. I hate when that happens, I was not so lucky when the front tire on my Imp came apart at 70 mph. I probably would have been better off if it blew out completely but my tread just delaminated and beat the hell out of the fender.
Can you see anything that might have caused it? What brand of tire was it.
I have a set of Goodyear P225R75/15's on the road wheels. Which I believe are the closest to stock tire size.
There oughta be a law
Glad you're safe (the most important thing, after all) and that the skirt wasn't damaged....blow outs suck.
I think thats damn close to what I have on my convertible
Shes begging for those road wheels
