Sunday Morning Cruise

Thanks, I inspected the other 3 tires, they look normal, didn't see anything unusual, and have the proper psi. I have a set of roadwheels and tires that are going on in a couple of weeks.

I would have not wanted to be there had you just threw on the Road Wheels and that happened.

I just finished inspecting those wheels and tires too. I would of been extremely upset if I would of damages a road wheel.

Glad there was no damage Bob. I hate when that happens, I was not so lucky when the front tire on my Imp came apart at 70 mph. I probably would have been better off if it blew out completely but my tread just delaminated and beat the hell out of the fender.

I see trucks loose piece of tire like that all the time. I ran over a good size chunk of rubber last year on the way to Carlisle after a truck in front lost part of it. Scared the living **** outta me.

Those are caps.
Those chunks left on the road are called gators.

yeah, they damn sure look like gators don't they. Had I happen to have a shoulder launched stinger missile on the seat beside me that trucker would be in the big T&A truck stop in the sky today.

Can you see anything that might have caused it? What brand of tire was it.

Lucky for me it was a rear tire.

Signet P235R75/15's. There wasn't enough of the tire left to determine what or how it failed.

I have a set of Goodyear P225R75/15's on the road wheels. Which I believe are the closest to stock tire size.

Glad you're safe (the most important thing, after all) and that the skirt wasn't damaged....blow outs suck.

There oughta be a law

There really should be a law against re-treaded truck tires. They are ridiculous on so many levels. One of my biggest pet peeves.

Wow, Bob, you are lucky there was no damage.

I had a terrible sideways vibration when the tire went down. I thought for sure the fender skirt got wasted. No damage at all.

Shes begging for those road wheels

I hear you. Another week or two. I'm doing other projects so I only have limited time each day for the road wheel restoration.......plus I need 50 degree rain free days to paint.
