I had some great help painting my Grandsons truck. My 3 1/2 year old Granddaughter. She thought that I should paint the truck rainbow. I told her people might get the wrong idea about her brother.

now that my "young-uns" (two girls, two years apart) are full grown, they have clear memories of 30 years ago as pre-school/early grader schoolers helping me (i.e., giving me nails, screws, bolts, etc, marking boards before cutting, snapping chalk lines, spreading mulch) build their playscape.

Plus a ton of other stuff (e.g., I'd give them little trim rollers when we were painting their rooms in our new house. the volcano science project we did, etc.,) we did together when they were very young.

Best days of MY life in many respects. And we STILL do little things (mainly board/video games) together that we did decades ago (Super Mario on Nintendo, Monopoly, Sorry, Uno, Yahtzee, etc).

They WILL remember .. now I gotta start the cycle again with my grandkiddos (just turned 3, the other coming up on 1) while I still can.

:)

Chris, I didn't get a price quote .. the ebay part number was $25.00. What did you find out?

You will really enjoy those "gandkiddos" Ray. I've got 6 of em from 22 years old down to 3. While I spent a lot of time with my kids coaching little league and soccer I did have to work. With the grandkids anytime they're around they get our undivided attention. You get all the good with none of the bad like having to discipline or punish. And yes I spoil the little one rotten!

She had more fun today helping un mask it. And her brother is happy his truck looks like new again.

I taught my grandson a valuable skill. He was 10 at the time so this was almost 5 years ago. The Prius was my son's girlfriend's. She had good taste in men (she was with my son) but bad taste in cars.

Yes, he got the safety lecture first.

Keep it up. My youngest granddaughter loves old cars and is always going to car shows with me. As soon as I get back from Mexico she is making me take her to Autorama. She told me last fall that she wants to get an old car and learn how to fix it. Music to my ears.
