The 1972 Chrysler Thread

I grabbed this nice 72 Polara in action.

@Oz Sport Fury -- I don't see the V1X code for the black vinyl top on your Newport Royal (it has to be a Royal, as the A1Y5 interior is unique to that line). The third line from bottom shows GY8, so the roof was originally painted in the main color (no vinyl top). Yet, it has the moldings for a vinyl top.

Perhaps @69CoronetRT can chime in?
Its really weird, someone went to great lengths to make vinyl skins to fit over the fabric seats??

On the drivers side you can see the original off green fabric showing in a corner, I originally thought it was just a crappy retrim job!

The video from 2014 has the roof on there, maybe someone got the chrome trim off a wreck and modified this one?

Even the door frames are blacked out which kinda suits it too!

Back to 1972 Chryslers, @saforwardlook helpfully started a separate thread on 1972-1973 440 Chryslers with dual exhausts -- see here.

My 1972 Newport Custom has arrived into Hungary in 2004. There was 3 owner before me and all of them did some restoration work on it. It is in a great condition. I have all docs about the car's history, I have the hand written ordering letter from 72 about the requested specs and extras. Also all of the papers and bags that was provided with the new car in at the dealer. Like the paper Chrysler key as advertisement of the electronic ignition! All service paper with registered milage. it has 84000miles only. I am working on some interior parts and the heating/AC system, because it does not work. If anybody has drawings about the heating system assy or video that would be great. I attach some picture, but more comes latter!

Thank you for posting about CM23T2C269854 -- what a beautiful GY4 Newport Custom, and a rare T-code to boot!

@david hill fixed the heater boxes for two of my fuselage C-bodies and he did a fantastic work. He's been generous with his advice to others, and has posted about his work in the threads I have for my cars. See the posts listed at the following link for Buttercup, my 1972 NYB:

Search results for query: heater

David posted a whole bunch of additional info and pics in the thread for the 1970 TNT 'vert that he repaired for me:

As @ayilar has stated I have a very good knowledge of 69-73 heater box repair and trouble shooting. If you have a problem PM me and I'll help you find a solution.

@72 New Yorker recently acquired CH41T2C119298, a TX9 black NYer 4dr sedan with V1X black vinyl top and blue E9B8 cloth-and-vinyl bench-seat interior. Love the black exterior / blue interior combo -- I listed a few more examples here.

very nice Newport indeed. Nice specs, and looks very well maintained for its age and mileage.
