The daughter I never had

Great story! I've heard very little about the event they're speeking of but it sounds very interesting.

That's a great story. Too bad more kids don't have interests like that. X-Box and Facebook is more appealing to kids these days.

Looks like the event is this weekend. Are you going?

I would but way too busy! The `71 Charger R/T is a couple of days of detailing and decaling away from being ready to sell so I will be knee deep in elbow grease all weekend. Also have my dad's 80th B-day party on Saturday afternoon. And I just bought another couple of cars from a barn and a field and they are being delivered to my shop on Sunday as well as a `70 RR project I just sold on Ebay is being picked up for delivery at the same time. Otherwise I'd go!

it is so good to see and hear that we as a car community accept the young and can guide them in the direction they may need or help them with the parts they are looking for....when i was young and bit by the car bug as many of you were im sure, i hear "You are wasting your time on that car when you should be study'n, there is no value in rusty cars and never will be!" good for you girl and i cant imagine how proud her father is...i know i would be

Did the 71 make to Carlisle? What are the barn and field cars? I don't think you mentioned them before. Happy Birthday DAD!

1978NYB, My father thanks you!
Charger was nowhere near ready for Carlisle and still isn't today, although we are very close. We may take it to the Nats, ideally to deliver it to the new owner! It should be listed in the next few days on Ebay and I'll let you know when that happens. This car is REALLY turning out to be a stunner!
As far as the barn/field finds that are being delivered? A mostly complete `71 Super Bee project that has its original 383 that runs(engine was in a different car). Build sheet and 1 of the 2 fender tags is still attached and its a 3spd manual car originally, however the 3 spd is long gone and a 4 spd is included. This is a Tawny Gold car with black stripes and top(I think) and a tan bench seat interior. The other car is just a rolling shell `71 Charger parts car which actually started life as an R/T, although there's no way to prove that, I'll just cut it up and sell the good stuff.

Nice finds. Can you post a couple of pics when you get a chance. I know you're busy.
