The other Polara

Recently I had the front end rebuilt and the mechanic mentioned I had a hole in the upper radiator hose.

Initial I looked for a 1969 Dodge Polara 318 no AC and there was no hose listed, so I went to the parts store where they will let me look through the hoses.
I find the hose that matched what was on the car and got it. I still wanted to look into the hose issue and looked up the factory part number and keyed it into the various parts store websites and ebay and came up with a different hose that what I just got. A gates hose was ordered, when I received the hose I pulled the other hose and started to put this one on but it basically did not fit. I re-positioned the hose on the radiator and was able to get enough to fit onto the thermostat housing. put the coolant back in and on I went.

Having the Champion radiator actually helped me as the inlet was about 1" closer to the center, I do not think I could get this hose on with the factory radiator.

The first hose was a ECR/NAPA 7365
The second one is a Gates 20594

That's what happens when the original blueprints from back when it was made in America then gets sent to China. Something gets lost in the tlansration.

As mentioned in a different post I may be looking at selling this car in the near future.

It is my daily driver, I'm not sure what a good price for it would be.

The car is somewhere between a daily driver and a parts car, either way it is a project car.

There is still rust on the lower fenders and front floor, front and rear windows should come out and have spots fixed.

The 318 is all original with only about 98,000 miles on the car/engine/transmission.

The front suspension has ALL been recently rebuilt along with all 4 shocks and brakes.

Any idea what it might be worth? Any takers?

Alan

Hi, there. Any chance of parting it out, or do you want to sell the whole car?

If for some reason you do decide to part it, I am very interested in the heater box. Both inner and outer parts. I would like to remove the air box from my 300 vert.

I have nowhere to keep it (as a non-driver), so all or nothing.

What do you need?

Alan

Ok. I need a fuel tank, fuel lines and floor (from dash to b-pillars). I also need two more inside door handles.

This morning on the way to a Mopar show the car turned 100,000 for the first time, it only took 46 years!

AND when you think at how the Buy Here/Pay Here lots are packed with 10 year old cars with 200k+ on them, you've just earned your Degree in Economics & Finance.
