that would be really interesting to make it into a plain htp, but i think the landau makes themn look really classy. Sounds really easy to do though.

Remove the vinyl. Remove the plug. Get a new interior sail panel. Get three pcs. of chrome window edge trim. And you're there.
I was going to go the naked roof route with my 2 dr and I had the pcs. Never got that far.

pump was bad......they repl it and the pressure switch and gauge. Good news is, there is more than enough water down there according to the well guys

So it didn't kill your budget for a car. Great news!!!

what abt pillar/wxstripping between the windows? isn't that car built with a b pillar?

No B-piller. Just a plug that fits tightly up against the back seat window. That's why it has to stay up.

so to make it pillarless one would need to pick up wxstripping to replace the plug to complete conversion.

Nope. Just pop the plug off. Then you have the normal window just sitting there. If the motors are there (sometimes they are, sometimes they're not), just plug them in and get all the correct switches.
Or get the handles if they are manual.
Three pcs. of chrome exterior surround trim and that's it.
Also, Depending on model (Royal Monaco, Gran Fury, Chrysler, opera window sail panels were screwed on over hardtop sail panels OR replace the hardtop sail panels altogether. I've seen them all kinds of ways. It seems like how to do it was always a work in progress that they never could finalize on.

Excellent news, glad to hear it!

Mark, are you considering getting this car??? Sure sounds like it.

I love this RMB. It's a very rare Diplomat coupe. This optional roof treatment was different than other RMB coupes and can be distinguished by the rectangular opera window, wide stainless trim and smaller rear window (like an Imperial). Here's a non Diplomat RMB.

Me either! This is a spectacular car for sure!

Seller is in Virginia says it's a local car, the car has a Delaware dealer decal on the rear....unless his hometown is in Delaware. Could be possible.

I have never seen one of these with the stainless "basket handle" trim on the roof. It looks good. The pictures don't make me fall in love with the interior fabric though. The red brocade looks faded and the way it wraps around the sides of the seat doesn't thrill me.
