I just figured out if that Smart Car was actually on a turntable you could swing that table 45 degrees and........

and then realize that you need to swing it another 45° to drive it off the back???

Yeah the Pete is mine so is the orange one behind it. Hoping to have it back to work in september

I had a 62 D-100.

Another vehicle I wish I never sold...

A close replacement maybe? It is a D200.

I like that blue one color and all. I almost bought a crew cab one of those back in the eighties it was a 63i think but the /6 was not tow vehicle friendly

I got enough cars right now.

My old truck came up for sale a couple years ago and I walked away from it. The guy I sold it to many years ago sold it to a guy that repainted it satin black and generally gheyed it up. He wanted too much $$ and I would need to repaint it etc.

Why do you care what someone else drives, its their money, only ones that piss me off have badges like Hundai, Kia, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, VW, etc etc etc:sFl_america2:

Didn't really want to open that debate but since you mentined it how many jobs have been lost in NA due to idiotic cash for life union demands?

US Steel has major supplier agreements with Honda and Toyota which keeps the mills running here in NA. There are numerous parts plants that also benefit from these assembly facilities. So I'm not completely buying the exit of capital theory. US Steel Canada is currently in a lock out position trying to correct the insane historic USW demands. Sometimes you need to take a step back before moving forward. Having said that I'm niave and understand that we do not have a level playing field. Anything produced with what amounts ot slave labour in the 3rd world should be barred from entry. BTW that includes Mexico. My .02.

I'm pretty sure the 10 % that own 70 % plus of wealth find it worthwhile for them the way it is, otherwise there would be penalties on foreign products in no time. The rest of the population doesn't count that much. Goes for any country capitalist or commie. Plus globalization blurrs the whole picture anyways beyond recognition.

I don't know if there really is an "American" car anymore. I still buy domestic cars though and will continue to do so as long as I can.

That said... and I really don't want to get into Union v. non union.... we do a lot of work at automotive suppliers that now list Toyota, Hyundai etc. as major customers along with GM, Ford and Chrysler. Some are union shops and some aren't... but they all seem to pay well and it's good to see that not everything is sourced off shore for those cars too.
