Stan, have you verified if your speedo is accurate with those tires?

At 60-65 I have about a 5% error.
Find me some L-78 WW's at a price I can swallow and I'd be one happy camper but that ain't gonna happen.
Key word: affordable....

Our original size, J78-15, had a diameter of 28.7".
Our P235/75-15 has a diameter of 28.9". Negligable.
So it has to be due to tire pressure and 35+ years of wear.

If the tire diameter has increased, that's going to decrease the speedo error. Chrysler intentionally designed speedometers to read higher than actual vehicle speed to prevent lawsuits from "erroneous" speeding tickets.

You rekindled an almost dead brain cell when you said that. I remember reading something about that a looooong time ago.

Firestone 235-75R15 with the 1" whitewall on the '78 NYBS. They've been on there since 2010. I've had very good luck with them, and the ride quality is pretty good.

I checked on the Firestone website, and it doesn't appear they offer that size in a whitewall anymore. I was hoping they might still make them too.
