They replace via the shortest distance between 2 points.

and that would be right thru hull. starboard is done and patched. hole cut on port side and sonething ready to slide in.

few coats of paint later she'll be looking/running like new.

Seattle WA. yesterday heading Interstate 5 south about 7pm PDT.

Still about 70 miles away in these photos, Mt. Ranier (~14k ft elevation) dominates the landscape. this is one big rock :)

post #601 is Mt. Baker (named after George Vancouver's third lieutenant in his 1792 British expedition to the region).

Better photo of the summit (I took the first pic, a friend took the second one from a better seat in the plane) .. litterally a 1/2 mile from the summit.

This mountain is in the Cascades (remember Mt St. Helens is too) and at some point in the past its erupted since this area is on the Pacific "ring of fire". Scientists estimate this cone is less than 100,000 yrs old, so really young in geologic terms.

last pic is courtesy Brooklyn Museum from an 1890 oil painting --the cone is little more defined back then it seems.

Not sure if these old girls qualify for this thread, but didn’t know where else to put them. I was out cruising today In “Momma D”.. my 75 NYB, and passed a parking lot that had these two old girls that look like they’ve been there for quite some time. The 1960 wagon and a 1948 special deluxe. Thought I’d share.
