Over the Cascades in Washington State. at Sunset. looking SSEasterly toward Rainer (unidentifiablem rightish, in this shot)
Looking the opposite direction, NNWesterly, into Canada, and the Coastal Range that extends into British Columbia and all the Way to Alaska. 1500 miles of ALL RUGGED mountain wilderness. Altitude 15,000 ft, means horizon is about 150 miles away.
A few minutes later, a bit darker cu Sun is largely gone done, aiming more toward the ground, part of the Cascades from Washington going into Canada. Again photos are NNEasterly.
I thought I was catching Mt. Baker again -- but was assured by locals that I did not .. just another set 8k-9K foot peaks in the Cascades
Not much of an art fan .. especially the astract kind like this ... but this guy standing outside the St. Lous Science Center caught my eye. Says stainless steel constuction ..but look close.
Anacortes WA (just north of Seattle).. Mount Baker in the distance. Taken at 4:15 AM PDT two weeks ago. It gets light early/stays light longer in summer (vs most other US latitudes of course) they said. i said yeah but not that much.
i find 4 leaf and 5 leaf clovers it's a common occurrence around here so now my goal is to find 4 leaf poison ivy, just for pictures not for touching... so far i only found two (i missed placed my 2nd photo)
hey M&M. nice ones out in the yard .. Mrs. M&M has quite the horticultural talent. one of the many reminders that the coolest pics are sometimes 'right outside our windows".
