That's cool. I always wondered what it would be like to buy a muscle car new...

That was pretty much his rationale too. He still has it as far as I know but the last time I saw it was probably 3-4 years ago. He's a mopar guy but Mopar didn't have anything comparable. He has some NOS parts with it too if my memory is correct and it's not that high of mileage car but I don't recall what it's was at the last time I saw it.

The closest I ever came to buying a new muscle car was buying an brand new 89 Mustang GT 5 speed (red of course). It was the first year for the mass air flow sensor and some almost zero buck changes really made a difference. It was a blast to drive.

Having lived thru' the muscle car era two ugly memoriez still haunt me 'til my jawz get tight. The Insurance companyz not making enough profit and driving the premiums up beyond reason, and the towel headz doing the same thing by turning down the volume on the spigot. After I had to let ah '68 tripple black Boss 302 4 spd vert, ah screamin' yellow '70 440 6pk charger, and ah '72 tripple black 396 SS El Camino get past me, I finally got the message. Ask me If I'm still just ah tad crabby, mumble mumble mumble. Jer

When in doubt, "go to the backyard. Experimenting with color vs black and white..minus the '79 Trans Am in my non-mopar car hi-jack of my own thread.

we had a snow dusting (one inch) last night ( btw I hope our friends, on the serious tip, who got hammered out east are doing ok. Polarus in Worcester?).

I got these this morning January 30 about 830 am, looking toward southeast. Two identical photos run through the photo editor.

I kinda like the B&W treatment over the color. The starkness of bare trees/winter setting may lend itself better to the B&W treatment.

See, i dont edit them to bw. I have a canon and shoot in bw...

impromptu pics. exited my garage and the shot was staring me in the face. but i shot these with my phone..dunno how to use it/even if it has a B&W setting.

will the outcome be very different IF shot in B&W intiaily? my Canon Powershot has a B&W setting but again i dont usually have it on me.

more experiments...horsing around with my '71 Newport. I can only edit existing pics that were shot in color originally so there's not much shot variety at my disposal. cropping/recoloring are my only tools.

when weather improves i am gonna try some cool shots (e.g., polara71 did one with sunset/rise in background of a closeup, Knebel did his Fury in closeup, etc.) on the Newport/other cars.

wide shot B&W of the car didn't seem interesting to me...closeups/angles emphasizing texture/design features against a cool backdrop seem to be the way to go.

or the WHOLE vehicle against an expansive photogenic backdrop (e.g., theres a Lil Red Truck and a nice motorcycle in this thread early on done that way) is nice too.

anyway, here goes:
