Trailer/tow hitch

My 71 Sport Suburban parts wagon has a class 3 hitch on it. And I have a hitch from a 72 Polara wagon laying around.

For my 74 town and country wagon i love to pull a trailer behind it. So i need a trailer hitch.
Doos my wagon share that part with other c bodys . Or anyone has a lead to one.
Thank guys
I saw this thread and thought I would post a close up of the hitch that came on mine. It does not look factory like the other posts on here but I thought it would give you an idea???

The code A35 factory hitch does look like it has the best attachment points.

A camping trailer dealer in Fairfax County VA installed a receiver hitch on my 74 New Yorker in 1989.
It resembled a basic Reese 2-inch load leveler hitch receiver hitch.
I don't have any pictures of the long-gone car or the hitch. And I don't remember the brand of the hitch.

The point is, that the hitch did attach to the frame rails in similar fashion to a mid 90 p/u truck. And I think an adaptation of such a hitch could be performed.

We pulled a poorly constructed very lightly built 6,000-pound 35-foot camper with the car.

Hey guys. Wel i did a bit of mcgyuvering here with a tutch of the a team aswel and this is what i came up with. I bolted al this to where the bumpersprins are atached. What do you guys think, is that gona hold up. ? Its onle for a 1000kg max trailer with windsurf gear.

I imagine that will hold up for no more than what you will be towing. I would just be sure to check on those bolts a few times after you put some miles on it to make sure they don't loosen up any. Your wagon is bluetiful!

You say your trailer is 1000kg. That means you need 100kg on the tongue. Looks like your ball is 30cm from the bumper mounts. That puts significant torque on that member. You should consider transferring that torque forward along the main frame rails.
Always remember that "strong enough" may not be not be adequate if more load is added or an unforseen circumstance adds to the stress. Think also of possible liability consequences of a failure.
Just a few thoughts from an old guy who has built several hitches. Lindsay

I don't like it, not for 2,000 pounds. It's good for 100 pounds ball weight and 1000-pound total trailer weight, at most.
Attach the draw bar to the bottom of the bumper and I would trust it for maybe 300 ball weight and 3,000 max total trailer weight.

Sharp eaye mate. But if you look good you can see that the hole in the ballpeace stil needs to slide in bout 20 cm so that its way shorter .
Also trailers here have les tongeu weagth . Prob 50 to 70 kg . Dont know why thats diferent here lol.
