My 440 was not designed to work with .600" lift camshaft either but it works.Your torqueflight wasn’t designed for type F, and it still doesn’t need it to work great for years
So what should I use? There are no trans failures from type F, dexron, or ATF+4, it all works fine. Some lubricate better. Pick your poison. All this bickering and they still keep on working
You need to stop listening to wives tales, and go read some engineering manuals.
Stock 4 plate clutches in a 727 will handle 500hp. A stock 2 ND gear band will not stay in adjustment (wearing badly) in 1/2 a season of racing. That's why Hemi and 440hp cars came with a wider solid band. It's not a failure rate for the band, it is why put fluid in that does not make the bands life any easier. Type F will make it grab the drum quicker/ faster/ harder, with less slippage.
Your high gear clutch is crapping out due to line pressure not fluid type. The type F you so much want to berate will actually help in this instance.
Yes it all works. 85w140 works to quite loose rod bearing clearances, doesn't mean it is correct.
F works period
