Transmission lever clip a727

I have a 727 the lever near the bottom where selector is keeps popping out any suggestions would be great do I need these clips or can I use something else

The clips on the add are for a manual transmission. Most of the 727 autos used a half moon style clip. You can buy those at any Ace Hardware, if you have your old one take it with you and find one like it. If it has been lost, take a digital caliper and measure the shaft diameter at the bottom of the shaft groove and use that to spec the new clip.
