In search of two original trim rings for late 70s 15x7 steel road wheels.
Just a suggestion: If you have some of the rings that you are looking for, you might try posting several good close-up photos of them. Show the curves and lines that may be pressed into them, both in the main well area and outer flange, the back side so we can see the style of clips it has, the shape of the valve stem hole, the depth of the ring (lay it face down on the table and measure to the top edge, the type of material & finish (chromed steel, aluminum, Stainless steel, / polished finish or brushed), and any stamped numbers or paint pen info on them...ect. Most of us have accumulated odd rings in our own searches for the "Right" ring. If you can really be specific, your odds are better of finding what you need. Try to hone in on the model year(s) as best you can and make sure of who's Roadwheel it is. Mopar, Ford, Gm, AMC -They all had them but the good news about that is that there were only a couple(few?) Wheel Manufacturers that supplied all the Car Manufacturers. Hope this helps a little.
-Not Right

Picture shows correct trim rings of a fuselage era road wheel (5.5" or 6") on a 1979 7" wheel. I knew the offset had to be different, so there's a gap. But it's a little more than I hoped.

Yes, those rings are exactly as what's on my original '70 Fury. (15" 6JJ). You know who I would contact? Murray Park. You need a whole set of the "Correct" rings for those 7" wheels. If that's a mopar wheel (pentastar stamp inside near the the valve stem), I'll bet you Murray can fix you right up. My two cents, for what it's worth.

That's generally accepted knowledge that both the early and late 6" Road Wheels are the same. Ergo, the trim rings are the same. We know that.
Dave asked: Does the SEVEN inch Road Wheel have its own unique Trim Ring with its own P/N.
I'll gladly await @Mr C

um ... I think it's obvious that the 7" road wheel has a unique trim ring.

no, original poster just wants to replace '70 road wheels by late 7" road wheels and since the trim rings do not fit the 7"... see picture above

Ha Ha Ha!!! this is funny. Is this how forums work? Like I said, I'm new around here. What is the definition of "is"? And since we are throwing things into the Mix Master, and I undoubtedly will be all wrong about this.....but I always thought that the style of wheels that Elcane has shown us was known as a Rallaye wheel (however the heck you spell it) and that the Road wheel was Mopar's rename of the Magnum 500 wheel (the 5 nickel plated spoked, steel wheel with the 5 deep set ovals all in black). But back to your original question, Elcaine, I really think that if you shoot that photo to Murray, he can give definitive information and may very well have what you are looking for. Do you have his contact info?

Thank you, but yes, now you are mixing things up a little bit :)
I know Murray B. Park is a good option to look for parts, just wanted to give it a try here :)

As I recall, the 15x7 version of the W23 Class II 16 Slot Road Wheels were only on the later 1970s (Aspen/Volare platform) Chrysler LeBaron and similar Dodges. There should be some sales brochure images online, somewhere, I suspect. These wheels typically had a body color center insert, rather than the painted silver area the 15x6 wheels had.
