Odd that I got a txt back from the cell # telling me to email for the requested pictures.....
Probably held back some of Tom's picture to make him seem legit.

Is it me or does it seem like the seams on the vinyl top are closer to the edge then normal?
Nice lookin car though.

Your calibrated eyeballs are still working well. Seams are far too far toward the edge of the roof panel. Maybe about 2" per side too far outboard?

Nice looking car, though. With the front wheels turned as they are, makes them look too far rearward in the wheel well, to me.

Still a nice looking car! Somebody spent a good bit of money on it, I suspect. What else is "hiding" other than the dual master cylinder? I see the later-style radiator and (CAP?) air cleaner
Even better that it's a factory a/c car!

Got the email with pics from the scammer when I opened up my yahoo account this morning, shows it was sent on the 5th but I didn't see anything till today. Here's the run on text with my restructuring.

Hello,

I have received your email regarding the 1966 Chrysler 300 with only 119,900 miles. The car is in perfect condition with clear title and carfax, no accidents, no liens or loans and it has just been completely serviced.

Never had or need any paint/body work done, garaged keep always, without any mechanical problems, tires and wheels are in great shape as well, electric is working perfectly. The engine runs very good and the automatic transmission shifts perfectly.

The price for the car is $7,200(including delivery and handling to your address).

I'm selling this car because my child of only 26 years died 5 months ago in a bike accident, the car belonged to my son and it brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it.

Me and my husband travel a lot with our business and we want to make this deal through Springfield Express Deliveries, so if you're interested in purchasing the car just reply me your full name, full address and phone number, to open a case with Springfield Express Deliveries.

They will contact you to explain the entire procedure.

<end>

Haven't googled this springfield deliveries yet, shall I play?
Need to think up a good funny name to send and some funky address and story line.

:soapbox:

Oh boy, just did a quick duckduckgo search, there is a;

Springfield Express Deliveries #1 Vehicle Shippers & Escrow Company

Anyone use/hear of them?

Then I found this facebook page,

:mob: oh boy I don't know if I have the energy for this. (we may have a co-conspirator)

Definitely the same car listed months ago. I recall the first few pictures are exactly the same. For $7200, it's a steal. Just not a steal for the would-be buyer

Yea a little more googling and this Springfield Express maybe a fake site, well put together but generic looking.
Web page is copyrighted in 2018 so.... hmmmm

(edit) yep whois reports: Creation Date: 2018-09-27 T01:10:15.00Z

Maybe a new scam as the facebook account appears to be new this year.
Found a couple of good sites dedicated to escrow scams, no reference to this escrow shipper yet.

I did the same thing, the whole thing is a scam. He picked an address with no visible signage, noticed the 2018 web page too, but doing business for 17 years. Get a real job you piece of crap, I hate worthless people like this.

Another escrow scam company. Run do not walk away. lol.

My brother almost got roped into one of these scams on a newish loaded Silverado. Company advertised as an industrial asset liquidation agent and the pics showed a '16 pickup parked by a commercial looking building with palm trees on the boulevard and it was about half price or less.

The 1st red flag, after the price for me when he called to see if I thought it was a scam was the "asset" was in Fermont Quebec. You can Google that if you like (it has a neat feature to combat the Arctic type winter) but suffice to say it is close enough to the North Pole compared to Fla, that palm trees won't even grow indoors. As luck would have it, I was delivering an 80,000 lb roll of conveyor belt to the iron mine that is the sole reason for the town's existence. The address was legit but alas no building, no palm trees and no Silverado.
