The adventure starts........
Well...... Day one of the Daytona trip in Jezabelle was interesting.....
The 300 ran perfectly, nice day, a little cool (65 is cool to those of us in the south) but pleasent and dry.
While cruising through Dawson Georgia, (peanut center), I look in the mirror and theres a local yokal with lights & siren giving me the stink eye...! So I pull of into a parking lot and start to gather my paper work.... reg, proof of insurance, license....etc. and start to get out of the car. He yells at me "STAY IN THE CAR.....HANDS ON THE WHEEL WHERE I CAN SEE THEM". Then slinks up the side from behind and says....I RAN THE PLATE AND THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPORTED STOLEN....! omg...!
He gathers up all my paperwork and says...wait here, then goes back to his car. By now a second local yokal with lights flashing shows up and stands guard on the passenger side giving Ellie the stink eye.
Then a third lady cop arrives....lights flashing, and walks around talking to a PINK cell phone.
After a short while, everything checked out I guess and he returned all my paperwork and wished us a happy thanksgiving. Said he had to follow up on the stolden report.
WTF.....!
Thats not all though..... and then..and then....
About 70 miles down the road the oil light starts flashing....... I immediately pull off and shut the engine off and start the road side diagnostics. Oil level clean and full. wire connected, no visible leaks. Start the engine.... everything sounds great. no clicking of banging. So I continued another 20 miles to Thomasville Ga keeping a tuned ear to the engine and watching for tell tail signs of smoke..... nothing.
I checked three parts stores, including a NAPA for a sender switch. (We can order one for you).
I drove another 70 miles to Perry Florida, (where I'm in a Motel now) and then drove out to get dinner with no further issues.
I am convinced the sender is all that is wrong. Wire is disconnected so the light will stay off.... just a little uneasy driving with no warning system in place. I'll get to Daytona and order one to install while there.
I hope tomorrow is less eventful....LOL!
