Turkey run.......

All things must pass......

BACK HOME.....!

The Turkey Run trip is in the books.... I'm not sure what to do now....? Spent most of the last year just getting the 300 ready for the trip.
jezebelle made the trip in fine style. The power steering hose and oil sender switch were minor glitchs that were easily taken care of and a set of valve cover gaskets stopped the oil leak.

We traveled 1929 miles in 12 days.... trip fuel mileage average was a tic over 15 MPG.

We left Daytona on Sunday and made the trip to Fort Morgan Alabama in 11 hours. MAN...... what a road car. Felt great upon arrival.
:3gears:

I've got a small list of things to do... Mostly tighten a few screws and make some adjustments.

We ordered a new set of legendary seat covers at the Daytona show. Saved $100.00 on them. I plan on rebuilding the seats from my parts car for Jazebelle, already stripped, blasted and repainted. She will end up with a passenger recliner, head rests, and both 6 way power.

We had a great time... Wished y'all could have joined us.

I see that they still let people drive on the sand. It's been a long time since I've been able to drive on that beach.

Sitting on the beach at Thanksgiving. That's what it's all about down here...
I would have given my left nut to have joined you.

Enjoyed the photos and the details of the trip. Glad to see you had a great time, with no major issues.

It would have been great to have you there Stan.... And you could keep your left nut....I already have one, thanks.:hehe:

That beach is at Fort Morgan alabama.... Best time of year to be there... The coast is clear...
As a bonus the Blue Angles were practicing some of their maneuvers along the coastline. They made at least 7 passes over the Gulf right in front of us and did a different maneuver each time.

It was a great trip and it was fun keeping y'all abreast of the adventure. Thanks for your comments

I replaced the flat roofs on a large condominium complex in Gulf Shores, AL in the early 90's & I was there for a month or longer. The Blue Angels practiced overhead for what seemed like hours almost every day. The Navy also had the most bad *** hovercrafts (HUGE) that I've ever seen roaming the beaches. The oil rigs off shore are lit up at night & the sugar sand is amazing. The noseeums will KICK YOUR *** though.

I love fort Morgan.... White sand, pristine uncluttered beach.... A well kept secret. Some friends have a place at the 6 mile marker so it's well off the beaten path, but close enough to Gulf Shores if you want to get crazy.

True about the NO-see-ems..... I call them flying teeth.

Very nice thread, looks like a great time was had. Nothing like a good road trip in a beautiful car.

It's amazing alright. That's why every pickup down here carries a H.D. tow chain to pull cars out of it.

Have to careful where you park on the sand. I almost got stuck when parked on sand that was just a little loose. Luckily I got out without a tow. Is the whole 13 miles of beach still open to auto traffic?
