Undercoating for new pans.

I installed new floor and trunk pans. What kind of undercoating would you recommend, keeping in mind that I don't have a lift? Should I also put a coating on the top of the pans? Thanks!

Prime and paint first.

Then undercoating. Which brand? I don't have a recommendation. Others here will.

A "coating on top" - do you mean under the carpet? There are all kinds of sound deadeners and insulation - from original jute type materials to adhesive based sheets, to spray on bedliner stuff. I don't have a recommendation, but the factory used jute.

Might apply some 3M or similar "seal sealer" before the painting operations, though, ensuring what is sealed is CLEAN and rust-free when the sealer is applied. As @Ross Wooldridge mentioned, "prime and paint", top and bottom. To pretty things up a bit.

Not only to pretty it up, unprimed and unpainted metal will rust underneath undercoating. Typically the coating that those pans are delivered with are only a very basic coating, not designed for longevity.

This past summer while replacing my front stub a paint shop recommended a product called "DOM16" which is aka Dominion Sure seal. It's supposed to be a lower-cost but exactly the same as POR15. I had blasted / stripped some of my under-side down to bare metal and applied that stuff and I am a total believer in that product. It is super tough, it won't peel and you can weld right next to it and it can take the heat. I will now put this anywhere on the underside of the car or interior floor that I manage to strip down to bare metal. I had my rear drums turned and shot-blasted and painted them with this stuff.
