Unknown Blower Fan Switch

This only has a partial part number as far as i can tell; "940 109" and what appears to be a date code (or maybe some kind of batch code??) on the other side ("061600"). It's a four terminal switch and still has bits of plastic that broke off in the mounting screws.

I've been going through my parts hoard and this one is a mystery.

I'm finding this might actually be P/N 3847940 (also also s/a or superseded by 33847443 / 3846303 / 3780734 / 3780737 / 4261306). This same switch also came in black (plastic??) lever. Anyway, mystery solved.

Years ago, I asked our ACDelco jobber for a fan switch catalog. In the back were pictures of switches with GM part numbers. I believe all of those switches were made by "Ranco". The basic switch box is very similar among all of their switches. What defines a switch to a particular application is the mounting bracket and lever, basically. When you see all of the switches together, you can easily see such similarities. Of course, the electrical terminal arrangements might vary a bit, too.

ACDelco, at that time, was still doing parts for other OEMs, including Chrysler.

In the general Chrysler part numbering system, a "2______" part number would be a 1960s decade part. A "3______" part number would be a 1970s decade part. With a "29_____" part number being a 1969, first model year used, part number.
