US Tax Payer ROI

So no one is concerned about the export of NA jobs to the far east?
I'll go out on a limb here and will say that for the most part, people who are doing well will say that it is not a real problem and people who are struggling will say that it is.

I would say that exporting of jobs overseas is a real problem for the U.S. and it is caused in large part by the rich who own the companies that export them, caring more about profits than caring much about the U.S. worker, e.g. like Romney and his brethren who really do ship our jobs overseas. My only point is that this is not one of those examples - bailing out GM and Chrysler kept jobs here, not as the video would have you believe. Remember when during the last election Romney was reminded of his position during the bailout decision that we should "Let them go bankrupt" meaning GM and Chrysler? His campaign then ran an ad on TV saying that "the bailout of Chrysler was leading to Jeeps being made overseas rather than in the U.S." This is the same BS from the guys like him that really do move jobs overseas. Fortunately the majority of the U.S. public saw through his campaign's misleading ads on this topic (also remember when he was caught on tape saying he only cared about the 47% - there he told the truth to a rich audience and it bit him hard). Jeeps will still be made in the U.S. and in addition will also be made in China for the Chinese market. Why would any automotive company neglect the China market and give away those profits? GM and Chrysler are now pretty healthy companies and I am grateful that Presidents Bush and Obama made the right decision to lend them a rope.

I dont see anyone bitching about the bailout. I dont see anyone bitching about selling cars in China.

I think that is a concern for anyone with children, and/or a pulse on the economy.

You know something. I have to give a click on the Thanks button. Just don't do a happy dance and we'll be fine.

I just read the following five minutes ago.
As you know, GM is halting production in AU of Holden vehicles. You know Holden. The makers of GM's V8 RWD platform. Holden will become a GM distribution arm for GM ia AU. They will be distributing cars in AU built in China.

Read that to mean:
The manufacturing of GM's Aussie's vehicles has been moved to China.

Well, I suppose that as long as GM keeps making 25,000 or so status symbol cars in Bowling Green, TN, for the GM execs to take to the Country Club, It's still an American company, eh? No, not really. It's only to allow the old school brass to still raise their kids in toney American private schools. After they are all grown up, Corvette production wll move, too...

Don't worry , when the tea party has its way and our economy fully tanks, we will become the new China with toilet level wages and we will be the ones making all the parts then at wages that won't sustain a decent living - doing all the grunt work. Then there will be no need to move GM to China because our economy will be worse than theirs. So cheer up!

?

i am a little more optimistic about our future than that. I think you have been drinking a little too much of GM's pink kool-aid.
