Valve body issue?

Mike I have a valve body out of a 74 trans it has the part throttle k.d. all v.b. had that valve after 72. Anyway v.b. yours if you need it.

Dave is the man, looks like the valve body should work in Goldie. He is going to bring it to me at the Nats. He is going to charge me a couple of beers, for it. This is why I love this site.

Thanks Dave :eek:ccasion14:

My local Mopar expert came through for me. I got a call while I was on vacation that he found a valve body in his shop. It was missing some parts but they would be parts that he was certain could be used from my old valve body. I dropped it off yesterday evening. I got a text this morning about 10:00, "your chariot awaits".

It shift perfectly. Life is good. Dave thanks for the valve body offer, looks like I won't need it now, but I am still buying you a beer. :eek:ccasion14:

My 727 had a bit of a "bang" shift from 2nd to 3rd. Seems this is caused (and not unusual) by one band hanging on
too long when the other engages. A very tricky adjustment to do with band adjustment. If you were to dismantle the tranny
you'd probably find the accumulator spring was either there or not. This cushions your shift like a damper with oil on one
side of the plunger and a spring on the other. You really don't need the spring but it needs to be replaced with a rod to
keep the plunger from moving. I installed 3 TCI valve bodies on three different trannys and I really think these are the
best units bar non. Transgo hasn't thought this whole thing out well and I am not sure of the manufacturers except their
price will floor you. TCI gives you everything and I do mean everything - accumulator rod, brackets and a reducing cap
that goes in the shift passage above the valve body. Price about $220.

Thanks for the info, but Dave is right problem resolved, I am running great now. The guy who rebuilt my transmission found another valve body in his shop and was able to make it work perfectly.

I usually try and close out a tread, once my problem is solved. I blame it on having too much fun driving my car.
