we wish not but the alternative is death .... so I'll try and grow old gracefully.....like Stan did

Ummm..........Stan isn't old yet. He has a long way to go.

My grandfather is 93 and won't need intense care, no sports ever, only drinking less than a pint of diet coke for the last quarter of a century or so daily and a little coffee or tea. I hope I have those genes.

No kidding! I gave up diet Pepsi because I was told it wasn't doing me any good. I have a 99 year old grandma but I don't have to wonder how she made it as far as she has. She has basically lived her life so straight and narrow, with the exception of working for GM.

No beer??????????

Every one of us has inside us a gene that when it clicks on, you have no say in the matter. If you make it to that point in life where the gene has it's way, you have lived a full life.

No beer??????????

Very rarely. He likes a shot of rum in his black tea though. He spent some time in the hospital right after retirement where it came close, but that's now 30 years ago. Years as POW in a Russian camp, 40 years with diabetes, drinks way too less holds no diet with cream pie a couple of times a week standing about 5 feet tall and about 100 lbs. He is a phenomenon.

I've met a lot of old soldiers in Germany during the 1970's- 1990's. Good friends that are mostly gone now. Had a great time listening to their stories and having a beer and a wurst.
