Here is the mate to the 69 Runner A12 ad. This the A12 Super Bee ad, not as whimsical as the Runner ad, but still pretty cool.

Indeed ... Mrs. 300C at the controls, Dad and Rover along for the ride. :)

Of course, women drove cars in the 1950's .. but the ads were "male" centric for the most part back then and for many years later as we know.
 
Absolutely. As was the norm back then, illustrators took incredible artistic license with the proportions and dimensions.

i first noticed that with own eyes in mid 60's...the "wide-track" full-size Pontiac Bonneville and Catalina. print ad illusttators had those babies lookin' like they'd barely fit a traffic lane :)
 
It was the early 50's when marketing realized that woman played a big role in new car purchases. The man usually determined the brand and equipment of the new car, and the woman had their say in the form of color & interior trim.
It was that time period when colors became more pronounced with two and even tri tone cars as well as color matched fabrics for interiors.
