It's true that sponsors pay the bills. However racing has just gotten too expensive. I was at Z Max just a few months ago. $55.00 for ticket on pit side. $5.00 for a 16 oz Coke. I wanted a NHRA straw hat. $28 bucks. Got one at ACE Hardware for $5.00 it just don't say NHRA on it. Fried chicken sandwich with fries $8.00 $10.00 to park the car. I'm surprised they don't charge to use their restrooms. There is some free stuff. The US Army had a push up/pull up & sit up challenge. Anyone in the crowd that could beat one of their fit soilders won a prize. I didn't want to show off so I passed. Free helicopter simulator. Mellow Yellow had a free race car simulator. MOPAR had a booth & tossed out a few free hats. So I guess if you can whip a solider & outdrive John Force you can get some free stuff
