Bob Brevac top and Steve Drake on the bottom. These pictures were taken in the last days of USAC Stock car racing. By this time both these drivers had Cameros for the pavement and I guess they kept these for the two dirt races they had each year. Brevac's car was a post-Nichols car built by a former Nichols employee doing business as "Bemco." It has been restored to it's days as a Charger.

1977 Daytona 500. Petty qualified 3rd, but had to pit on the very first lap do to over filling the engine with oil. Finished 26th. Lost a lot of laps fixing that

bob , bet ya petty won that disagreement over track position , used him for a backstop , bashing him out of the lane , petty's car looks as if his had some others disagree with his cars position on the track a few times , rubb'n is rac'n . key'p da rubb'r syd down . thanks for the 63 pics , looks like most were coupes over hardtops . 64 started the h/t thing with the new rear window design , helped air flow , and the hemi helped a bit as well , lol .

Curtis Turner had a lot of arguments. He was a mean old dude. He won a lot of races knocking people out of his way. Looks like Richard had had enough in this pic. LoL

ya stove in the his door for sure , you can see how straight petty's car is at the hit , petty's got the wheels cranked over hard , he must have drove straight into him at speed going in to the corner . thats one way to gain track position , did some roundy- round'n , short track bikes mostly , had buds with full on race cars .
