vintage pics of women & cars

NASCAR great Buck Baker

ah ... this is when he was the man in NASCAR (late 50's). Buddy's dad, right?

guess i can cut him some slack . . so many chicks he didn't have enough room in his full size Mopar (I cant tell what it is but anything Chrysler Corp had with fins was big then I believe) :poke:

advertised as a 1952 Opel, in Belgium. dunno about that .. those look like the Alps, but they'd be many 100's of miles south. I recall nothing this talll in THAT country.

The vehicle is the Rod & Custom Dream Truck. Rod & Custom Magazine's Dream Truck - Kustomrama

The story on the truck is pretty interesting. The idea was to have the readers of Rod & Custom choose what they would like to see done and then have different custom shops do the work. The truck was eventually wrecked in a towing accident and disappeared for about 20 years. It was found and restored.

Turns out to be a professional piece with a title by the photographer..

My first thought was fishing poles until i saw whole pic and a bumper strap attachment. Now with a confirmation of the year, that was smack dab in the CB craze.

Yeah, i vote CB antennae. not sure why they need 2 of 'em, :)

Absolutely CB whip antennas. Added character to the car.

off topic. my apologies.

I was catchin' chicks .. they just couldn't park their rumps ON my cars. In them? Cool. :). Its how I keep chicks today .. we're good, just as long as they dont sit on my cars.

Yeah, I put fog lights on everything in the late 70's.

1977

I was into the CB thing ... my first car in 1976, a 1975 Ford Elite. Magnetic-mounted above deck lid. Notice I needed "static straps" to improve reception. NOT .. but thats what I told everybody. :poke:

I had that car almost 'til the 21st century -- years 1975-1992 on Michigan roads made a meal out of it beyond repair - i put it away far too late in it's life.

1978

my second car after a summer job at Ford's Ypsilanti Plant after freshman year in college. A demented ..er.... "collector", yeah, thats it ... was born that summer. Been combining .. "feeding" my illness with earnings ever since that summer.

NO CB, but giant red "whip-type" antenna (hard to see, next to black arrow drawn on pic) -- only because I thought it was cool. Clamped to edge of decklid with allen wrench screws.

STILL have this car. STILL have antenna, NOT on the car any more tho. 1971 Camaro Rally Sport. Has 383/700R4 combo now.

Long gone from this one, but yeah.

Useless in back with 15x8 reverse SS's on some fat arse tires (L60-15). Actually helped me save that front spoiler (I went through 3 of them tho) a few times.

All the "playahs" had curb feelers (and static straps), especially on their luxo-barges (caddies, electras. marks, imps). out of fashion by 1983 or so. Took those stupid "Zodiac sign decals" with them (those were the Crown air fresheners of the early 70's).

I still have about 10 cars with them (maybe 2 dozen unused packs of them on the shelf from binge buying in the 80's). off the cars in boxes .. they rust in a flash even with only summer driving.

People under 50 tend NOT to know what they were .. they have been gone a long time. Just old farts like me .. with my black socks, sandals, and bermuda shorts .. I sport curb feelers proudly.

:)

Roaring 1920's. "Flappers."

These women could be put in jail in many parts of this country back then. Risque, bordering on obscene for the era.

Calves, and thighs, and garters, Oh My!

asserted to be a 1941 Bentley,

dunno if photo, or even the car, is actually said vintage... all the Bentleys I found around this date (1940-1945 looked similar) had ALL STAINLESS grilles.
