Thanks for the reply and pictures. What you might do is get one 18" blade and put it on the lh side and see how that might go. You can also hand-place it on the rh side and see how that works, too.
On some later-model vehicles, they have one long blade on the lh side and a shorter blade on the rh side, fwiw.
On some vehicles, with the OEM-production-correct wiper blades, the tip end of the lh blade will actually contact the molding on the lh A-pillar during operation, especially on the top speed level. Nothing to do about that, either. Some just "kiss" (or get close enough for the A-pillar molding to cringe a bit) as a normal situation, by observation. 2nd Gen GM F-bodies were that way
