I got the terrible news this morning that our friend @Ripinator had passed to the other side. He had been valiantly battling cancer for over a year, but things went south last week and he left yesterday, with his beloved of many decades at his side and surrounded by his loved ones.

Rip and I found one another through FCBO: I reached out to him to ask for advice about a restorer whom he might have known, and we started chatting. We were at Carlisle together later that year and, over the years, we became friends. Rip was always willing to help, and I witnessed him go above and beyond to help fellow enthusiasts.

He and I participated in numerous C-body events together. Three summers ago, we drove halfway across the country in my 1970 300 'vert. I had promised that, if I ever sold "the TNT", he would be the first to have a go at it. He bought it a year later, and I am glad that he got to enjoy it with his wife and his son.

He loved 300´s in general and 300 'verts in particular. The photo below shows him with the 1966 that he was driving when we first met.

Requiescat In Pace.

Update: A memorial service will be held in a few weeks. I will post details after I get them.

Another good man gone.... this is getting far to common lately. Rest in Peace @ripnator and the rest of you take care of yourselves please I need you around! :(

This is very sad. Rip was a great guy that we had the pleasure of meeting a few years ago.

I don't have a picture of him, but here's his car next to mine at the 300 Meet in Hershey, PA in 2023.

Rip and I met a couple of times. Once again I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of someone I called a friend, R.I.P. buddy.

So sorry to hear @ayilar .
I first met him in person at Carlisle 2018 during the BoaB World Tour.
He sat with us and told how he followed my build from the start to finish.
I think he was at the FCBO shows?
SAd day indeed. Rest in peace my friend.

Rip was indeed at the 2022 C-body Show organized by @sixpkrt -- he and I came together. I was in Illinois already, and picked Rip up at Union Station in Chicago. He had taken the train that runs from Washington, DC to Rockville (near his Garage Mahal) to the Windy City, and was ready first thing in the morning. After the show, he and I then took turns driving the TNT back from Volo to his place in Maryland, with a stopover near West Lafayette, IN.

A huge loss for everyone, here and for his family and friends in the non-digital world. He always had encouragement for me with my '66. rest easy RIP.

This is terrible news Ayilar. Thank you for making the board aware. Since the first day I met Rip I knew he was one of those guys you wanted to sit with at the shows. Knowledgeable, funny, charming, respectful and a great story teller. Just a classy guy.

Im very sad. .

So long Carroll you will be deeply missed .

Great memories made there.

Too new to have posted with him on this site. But the great thing is as long as you remember him, he still lingers on. Condolences to his family and friends. Sounds like a great guy.

My best friend and brother Bob past away a few years ago and he still thumps me on the head and reminds me to put on my safety glasses. So they're still with us.
