We haven't had a good WTF is that topic in a while

I am gonna play a little devils advocate, I hate the car, but.....is it okay to talk trash loudly about another's car at a car show? I have never entered a show, and doubt I ever will, but if this car is what this guy enjoys and perhaps limited on funds and obviously limited on skill.....well who are we to allow our bitter words to be heard at a venue such as a show where people bring their pride and joy? I wouldn't want to hear such words about my cars. Does this happen at a lot of shows?

There is a way to tactfully disagree with what someone has done to a car ..... Sometimes it doesnt matter what is said and how. Me being of the "brutality honest" type I say what I think and usually upset the crowd

To answer you last question 1st. No not a lot but it does happen. BS happens at shows usually involving a minority of dickheads. I pulled into a show with my Polara one time parked next to a guy who promptly gave me a dirty look got into his car and moved it several spots away. Your first question is a good one. I agree it's better not to say anything but it's not an easy thing to see a car that you care about get butchered by an idiot and stay calm and mature.

Ever wonder if someone did that car like they did to screw with everybody?

Can't you see a couple of guys with a spray can in one hand and a beer in the other saying "Let's see just how many forums post a pic after the show?"

For the record, we didn't bash the guy, or even pick apart the car, we mildly told it as it was.

Don't like it, don't show it, there you go, get your panties out of a bunch and live on...............

I don't know where he's trying to go with that paint scheme. IMO two tone paint would be okay but should follow the body lines.
I'm thinking that the dash pad was probably no good anyway. Likely why he covered it. Quite a few of my friends used that "fun fur" stuff to cover their trashed dashes back in the day. Anyone wanting to restore this car probably would have had to replace or reupholster the interior and if the body has Bondo in it, they would have had to repair rust and repaint the car anyway, so really what has changed? At least he didn't cut the roof off it to make a poor mans convertible or something.
Like someone said maybe he's on a budget. I say if he likes the car then good for him. Maybe he's a young guy and this is his first car. Besides, where would this car be if he hadn't "fixed it up"?
I agree that Dodge shouldn't have done the added on bright grille surround treatment on the '69 C-bodies. I think these cars looked better without it. The '70-'71 loop bumpers were a different story. I loved the loop bumpers! :)

This is a Valiant that I use to have. I spent more time at my car that show that I ever did with my Barracuda.
Even as it sat people just wanted to talk about it. The other cars didn't have a problem with it. I probably spent most of the time trying to convince people the 273 was factory (they thought all Valiants were /6 cars). I didn't help it was dressed up as a Commando 273 (which was a factory option on these).
