When I started working on my 69 300 I intended to use the original wheelcovers due to the fact that the "correct" road wheel for 69 was the "recall" wheel, and almost impossible to find. The reproductions come in at around $2500. for a set of four
After seeing a few Cbody's with the later, (70-74) road wheels I fell in love.... the perfect look. I was able to locate and restore 5 complete wheels for less then $150.00. Added a set of whitewalls and it was back to the 70's.
Bob, both my Fury's had Screws and neither were tampered with.My 1978 NYB has screws.....I doubt anyone messed with it or did anything to take of my car prior to me owning it. It sat outdoors for 30 years and had 41,000 miles on it when I got her.
