What´s this wire for?

Hello,
i recently changed the valve cover gaskets on my 1973 400BB, when i became aware of an unplugged wire. It is an slim but long plug . Tubelike, on an 90 degree angle socket.
The other end is pluged in on an kind of wiring terminal, which is located directly behind the passengers side valve cover near the firewall.
Any ideas where it is intended to go?
