I was just wondering what model year do you prefer and why? Lets limit this to the years 1969, 1970 and 1971 please.
Thanks,
Dave

70. Because rear bumper goes around tail lights, also side markers looks better. Then 69, last is 71. 71 is last because Newport/New Yorker front bumper.

Partial to the '70, mostly because I own two of them, although I do like the look of the '71 grill and tail lights.

It's outside of the scope of your question, but I prefer the '68 myself (1st year of hideaway headlights), but also have a '71 with bucket seats, console, power windows, power seat, etc.

69, than 70 and 71
Love the 69 front grill most
69&70 back look both great
71 grill is the worst of the three, back is ok, seats are great

I like the '69 grille and park light arrangement the best, but I could never understand why they put a "loop bumper" on the front and a regular style bumper on the rear.
I love "loop bumpers"!

I like the '71 tail lights best and I also like the grille. However, the car was more of a Newport in '71 IMO, using a Newport front bumper and some Newport interior trim. I'd still love to get my hands on one though.

The '70 was nice, but the tail lights were a bit plain looking. Nice interiors and last year for rag-top.

Of course, the best engine choices were '69 & '70.

:)

1970...convertible...which I don't yet own.

As soon as my "ship comes in"...watch out.

Not sure I did that right... first attachment...ever.

IF I ever tripped upon the fiberglass parts... I could clone this. BUT it would be for my personal amusement and not so I could join the scumbag/used car salesman/flipper universe and try to cash in on a valuable model with a fake.

That said, I wouldn't kick any of them out of my driveway, unless there was room in the garage.:sixpack:

Been trying to find some nice ones for a while. I've got some that can be redone and that's one of this winter's projects.

Interesting question to me largely because I have all three and have been asking myself the same question lately. My favorite car that I own (partly because it is the first car I ever bought and have had since 1972) is my 1970 Chrysler 300 that I have shown on this site several times, but I also have to say that I believe the 71 is the equal of the 70 overall in design. The 71 has a much better interior due to the much more comfortable bucket seats and the improved 1971 instrument panel. On the exterior, the 71 300 grille has grown on me over the years - while the 70 grille is a little more interesting and colorful, the 71 version is appealing to me also because of its simplicity, but the extra garnish covering the tail lights on the 71s is a little less desirable to me than the clean 1970 plain version. So it is a toss up for me on which of the two is best overall. Regarding the 69, I really do like the grille and I also like the 3 pinstripes going down the side of the body, but the rear end treatment is not all that desirable to me compared to the 70-1 models, so it comes in 3rd.

My favorite is 69 with 71 tail lights... Let's talk about the interiors and other stuff in the other topic, shall we? lol

I vote Big John's, whatever year it is. I am kind of partial to the color though, even though mine is a little thin.
