So after procuring a 70 Sport Fury trunk medallion, I have learned they are actually 2 pieces. The body is chromed pot metal. The "insert" is actually aluminum. They need to be glued together. What do you suggest I use? I don't want it popping off while I'm driving.

I'd go with a two-part epoxy or auto trim adhesive. Two different metals expanding/contracting differently, you want something that will stay somewhat flexible.

I'd second JB Weld. Just gotta be careful to keep it where you won't see it and don't go too too thick a pad, you don't want any air gap around the edges.

Can't say, I've never used it before, but it doesn't list adhesive as one of it's attributes. Best thing to do is go to an auto body supply place and ask the question, they will give you the best solution.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing that. Figured I'd ask here first in case someone had done it before. Saves me a 30 min drive. :D

I use 3M black weatherstrip adhesive on many things, just last night I used it to put the aluminum cap on the shift handle. I used it to put the glass in the mirror housing, I used it to put the air cleaner service sticker on a wrinkle air cleaner (the sticker will not stick on its own)...

Trophy shops use a "glue" tape, thin membrane with glue on both sides to stick engraved plates on trophies. Ditto for shops that make the name plates for office building directories. Visit a shop and I'll bet you get a couple feet for free. Use Google and search for images using the key "double sided trophy tape". I have a few rolls of various widths, great stuff.

3m makes a heat actuated double faced tape that's pretty hard to beat as well... a lot cleaner and flexible than many liquid adhiesive alternatives.

gorilla products are good...finding gorilla better than 3m on all counts so far...avoid fixing permanatley..no to JB weld...overkill
