What is your daily driver?

Over 43 years I have had 8 different daily drivers.
The year of the cars/trucks range from 1955-1999
At the time of use the oldest was 46 years old, a 1969 Polara in 2016 (end of 7 years of use)
Three different New cars, 1994, 1997, 1999
Although the 1955 was the oldest car it was only 28 at the time.
My overall average: 21.5 years old

I used to be in a 6 person car pool in the late 70's.. finding a comfortable car for 6 adult men Was a challenge. My dad had a 73 Newport Custom and another member had a Chrysler Newport. These were comfortable enough for 6 but not outstandingly so.
The MOST comfortable car in the pool was a 70 Olds 98. It was a beautiful car in so many was.. even the middle front was comfortable. The car ran well with that big 455, the ride was comfortable even with 6 inside

Mine is a 1999 Toyota Camry. 190K and counting. It's my third. I've owned a 97,98,99 over the years. Truly fantastic, simple, anvil tough cars.
I had to quote this. My mother-in-law quit driving at 90 years old and gave us her 95 Camry with only 36K on the clock.
Never had a foreign car before.7 years later it is the wife's daily ride.At 70K on it now I think to will out live both of us.

When my grandmother was 74 she was in her second ever accident. She t-boned a blue Mazda Miata. Totaled her 91 Nissan Stanza, gorgeous car, but her baby was gone. I gave her my 97 Camry, since i just purchased my 94 Impala, I didn't need it any more and she did. I put 110k on it she doubled it before she quit driving. Then she sold it to her neighbor, their daughter is still driving it. Ironically, Grandma's first accident, she T-boned a blue 55 T-bird some 50 yrs earlier. Both convertibles ran red lights. She was driving a 51 Hudson the first time around.

I got me a little homemade 40MPG land missile:

'98 BMW Roadster
3.2 liter inline 6
5 speed manual. 5th gear is 1:1

Some reason I got cut off before I finished telling bout the Olds. It was sort of a royal purplish blue with same color velor interior. Like I said beautiful car. Believe me, I'm NOT much of a GM fan but gotta give credit where it's due. One reason the car was so roomy was it was absolutely slab sided. No curvey sides and the bench seats weren't curved or truncated at the doors for a curvey style.
Unfortunately he sold that car and got a '75 Olds 88. No comparison, one of the most uncomfortable cars in car pool. It had curvey sides for style and because of that the seats were truncated to fit. No fun.car didn't ride or run as well as the 98 either.

2014 Chrysler T&C 90k
2003 Lincoln TC 103k
1994 Cadillac Fleetwood 169k

I couldn't make a meaningful complaint about any of them. All purchased used, never done more than maintence work. I am astounded that people have so many problems with cars and have things like "payments".

I just bought it last August..it was a 22 Toyota GR86. I bought it because Car and Driver mag raved about it for 3 months in a row.
I put 5000 miles on it. It was a fun car but in retrospect really too small. It's a coupe with a useless rear seat you can fold down for more luggage room. It was hard to get in and out of and there's NO storage space inside except a small console and a fair sized glove box.
The Toyota GR 86 is a collaboration between Toyota and Subaru. It uses a Subaru 2.4 liter boxer engine for lower center of gravity and is rear wheel drive. I had to wait a month for it to be shipped from Japan to the US (the midst of the new car and chip shortage).

I owned the previous model (BRZ in my case) for 6 years. Same story. Loved the handling, loved the looks, loved the value, great at the track — but not quite practical or comfortable enough for a DD (noise, suspension, zero lumbar support). A VW Golf GTI has replaced it for the household. 90% of the driving fun, but 300% of the usefulness.

My own DD are (depending on the need) a 1996 FWB and a 1996 RMW. I just put 3.7k miles on the Roadie in the past 3 weeks, mostly for work travel. I put 7k+ miles on the Fleetwood over the course of 8 months last year (neither has seen snow under my ownership).

My 94 Impala SS was my Daily for years... very practical, and reliable. Just needed something that got better mileage. I have always wanted a wagon B Body Chevy or the even rarer Olds, and I love the look of the Fleetwood.

I'll drive the computer cars till they die, but I'm not buying any more of them.
99 Deville till she blows the NorthStar heads off.
98 Dodge 1-ton wagon van.
97 Dodge 3/4-ton conversion van.
96 Roadmaster wagon.
95 Deville 4.9, no NorthStar.
93 Dakota V/8 3.91 rear.
78 Mercury Grand Marque.
75 318 Dart, auto, a/c.
67 Toronado.
64 New Yorker.
I drive all of them about equal amounts. They all have their uses and personality's.

My DD is my dads 95 F150, had it since new. Rolling in 358,000 miles all OE drivetrain. Runs like a Top. Wife’s 2018 Chevy Transvestite. Lol then Ginger my 77 NYB.

Well, I just want to thank you so guys for such a response to this thread. I didn't think it would make get any interest at all So here I sit having sold my daily driver and just owning my 67 300. If the 300 doesn't sell I'll be fine with that. I haven't driven it since winter, we just took it out in March to take the pictures. I'm feeling pretty good health wise lately so I guess I'll still be around for a while despite the cancer. If I get well enough I'll just get another daily driver.
