WhenTF did they take away the ACC position on the Ignition switch???

Yep still debating with myself how much of a problem this is going to be with tech at the track.
Is the gas tank in the trunk?

Is it that big of a difference from a cardboard divider and a back seat?
People just replace that with metal if their track requires a metal separation from the gas tank.

Early Mustangs are often problems as the gas tank is the trunk floor.

It's cheaper to make for one thing and remember, the world is full of dumb asses that can't figure out how to remove the key in accessory. Saves service calls.

Nothing to do with this, but remember when you could turn a GM key to accessory and then remove the key?
In my younger, wilder, not so honest teenage years I knew every one in the neighborhood. I take the 5th as to what we did with them.

With enough assorted Chrysler keys in your collection, maybe a dozen or so, you could get in and start about half the new Mopars in the dealer's lots in 1968.....
