thanks, will sent more pictures later of the engine code from the passengers side of the engine1971 440.
Yep, the aftermarket valve covers Chrysler sold back in the day.The valve covers are probably from 'Mopar Performance' and that's what it says on them.
Exactly those
They would have been added after 1987. In 1987, Mopar's Direct Connection parts program changed to Mopar Performance.Exactly those
On this engine an enginecode with number G440 819 is punched. Valve cover says “ performance mopar”
Can somebody enlighten me? What kind of engine is this?

going to make a picture and post it hereWhat is the VIN on teh passenger's side?
As the '71 model year production wrapped up about the middle of July 1971, it's more likely the assembly was in August of 1970 at the beginning of the 1971 model year.Factory assembled on August 19th..... so like about the last motor assembled for the 1971 model year??
Thanks for this information, unfortunately there is no door sticker anymore. Maybe the tag will help101779 has an SPD of 818 or August 18th. So the 819 assembly date indicates August of 1970 assembly.
Since the assembly date of the numbers matching engine is AFTER the SCHEDULED date, this is one more piece of evidence that cars were not necessarily built on the SPD and that cars were built after the SPD.
Does the car have the original door sticker?
There was only one engine available for the 71 Imperial and that was the E85 T VIN 440-4bbl rated at 335 gross horsepower for 1971.
Looks like 818. So everything's lining upThanks for this information, unfortunately there is no door sticker anymore. Maybe the tag will help
