Which Formal Would You Choose?

Thank you everyone. The guy is set on getting about $3900 for the Newport which isn't bad but, there is still a few things about the car that would have me worried. I know for one the A/C doesn't work and number it does need shocks. The other thing is that it is still running the Lean Burn as well. My last problem is my Dakota Convertible hasn't sold yet and probably won't until after the beginning of next year so no C Bodies until the truck goes bye-bye.

That Newport looks nice. You would think the seller knowing it needs some things would motivate him to negotiate the price a little. He may come around eventually though if he isn't getting much other interest, and when you have your truck sold maybe you can get it for less.

I've come down on my truck. Winter always stink to sell a vehicle anyways. The gentleman who owned the Newport started at $6500 initially. I've had some interest toward my truck but, still surprised nobody has bought it given the low miles and all the work I've done. I would prefer a Newport over a New Yorker because of the crank windows but, patrick66 has offered me his car and I know it's been taken care because typically most forum members usually pride themselves more in their cars. Plus Patrick's car is priced very fair and has working A/C for what this gentleman is asking for the Newport $$$ wise.

Also, I have found another 77 Chrysler Newport with much higher miles than this car but, is more solid than this one for about $2000 less. The problem is the location of it being in Colorado.

Well poop, looks like the Newport is going to sell on me too and that's problem because I have to have a car that a tilt wheel and now I have to try to travel without the wife somehow.

Haha, I wish it worked that way. I had a few concerns about this car but, it had all the options I would prefer except not having a 440. Oh well, I guess it's not meant to be.

That sucks...but keep looking, you will find the perfect one eventually

I hope so. I need to ask some questions about these cars especially since I've giving up a good little truck at some point.

Thanks tallhair, I think it's going to be a tall order to find a nice car within a 100 mile radius for a reasonable price and with little to no rust here in Indiana. Even my Dakota has set me back a few $$$ I was lucky enough that it was only 14 miles from my home here.

I know where there is a nice 1974 NY'er coupe with a 440....no rust for $3000 near Schererville. Triple black.

Thank you 78 NYB. I might be interested but, I have a set criteria per what I posted in a wanted ad. I'm not a fan of black but, can you PM any pictures or other information. I'm looking to go with one that has under 50k miles and no mechanical issues.

You know.. from all the posts I've read by you, I don't think you'll ever find a car that suits you. Life is full of compromises, sometimes you have to bend a little. Like the way you were talking about the engine size for example...it was as if you were going to order a new one! 440 vs.400. At this stage of the game what difference does it make? Most of them are already through their expected lifespan or need a complete overhaul, they are nowhere near the power output when they were new, lighten up! There are only so many of these out there. It's like mine...I wish it had a 440 in it, but you know what, it didn't, so what, but it was also a California car with absolutely no rust! And a gorgeous powder blue leather interior! The guys who just painted it couldn't believe the condition of it when they stripped it. And by the way, the only reason I painted it was because I didn't care for the color that much... hint hint. Nuff said.
