Will 4th gen 2014 Ram 1500 wheel fit a 1996 Ram 1500?

Folks do any of you know or have tried this?

Will 4th gen 2014 Ram 1500 wheel fit a 1996 Ram 1500?

Both seem to have the same 5.5” x 5 bolt pattern.

Here’s a pic of the specific wheel I’m looking at. They are 17x7“, existing are 16x7”

In doing research I’m starting to find that perhaps there might be some issue with the older hub and dust covers being too large to clear smaller opening of the new wheels.

Also saw a comment that the studs on older trucks may be a smaller diameter than the newer vehicles. I.e. this 2014 wheel.

Apparently some may have resolved this with spacers which I don’t want to do.

i Could deal with changing dust caps but not spacers or machining the wheels.

btw both vehicles are 2WD
