I have 245/60R15 15x7 all around on my '70 Newport. They fit well. The 8s might be a little tight on the back, but since they're not turning left or right, shouldn't be a problem.

Let's see what others say.

Thank you so much for your reply. Darn, guy wanted $900 for the set with bg goodrichs. Nice car. Mines on ugly old Oregon state interceptor, owned it since 1974. My last Chevy was a 1959 vette. Be well.

depending on offset yes but the fronts will be quite short unless the front suspension has been dropped. I have 215-70-15 on 15x7's front & 255/60/15 on 15x8's rear which tuck well stock height inside the wheel wells and are the same basic 27" overall diameter
