Does anyone have breakdown pics of a 69 3 speed wiper motor.
Mine runs one speed only no matter where switch is. I went into it and taped up all the wires because old insulation was rotted off. I have no park also. The only pics I've found looks like a spring is missing. The arm inside just swings back and forth wherever it wants.
Wiper motor breakdown and repair is not in my FSM.

Think of your wiper switch as you would an a/c blower motor. All the switch does is turn the electricity on, then modulate it with various resistors to result in the different speeds. Each notch in the switch moves the circuit to a different resistor.

Then, add to that a "park switch" which is activated when the wiper switch is moved to "OFF". That switch triggers a mechanism which parks the blades as the motor is now turned off. Kind of like a power window switch on a newer car, which has "Full Down" or "Full Up" as a part of its functions.

Did you look in other model years of C-body FSMs?

Just some thoughts,

I found one pic online that looks like it has a spring on the gears. The extra parts on the gears just flop around and don't do anything but looks like it should hook to something. I'll keep searching because I know a lot of the 60s wipers looked the same.

I'll check the switch tomorrow cause at my age I forget these simple things haha

Does yours look like this?

If it does, I can take the cover off and snap some photos. Let me know.

Chrysler MasterTech training video on wiper motors. Video 70-11 in the 1970 model year listing of MasterTech videos at www.mymopar.com .

Enjoy!
