Wiper switch and reverse lights

When I turn off the wipers they don't return to the park position. But they do when I reach my hand up under the dash and wiggle the switch and the wires. Also it looks like I burned out the wire that turns on the reverse lights. Now is that supposed to be plugged in to the wiper switch? Noticed some smoke coming from there when the wipers were running.

burnt or broken connector on the wiper switch. there is a separate wire there to control park. can't remember the color of the wire off the top of my head though.

I believe it's white with a purple stripe if I remember correctly. Where can I find a new wiper switch? I haven't been able to find one anywhere

can't help you there but i would check the plug over. most likely a problem there.
