Wollfen's 1971 Sport Fury GT !

The flexing issue was realy bothering me and Paul...not my favorite type setup but going to solid bushing is a definite improvement and makes alineing body panels much easyer
My flexing was due to the rear mounts basically rusted away allowing the chassis to move up and down and pivoting at the firewall mount area.

Even with new bushings it woulda been a concern re teetering or flexing...solids the way to go

Okay a bit of an update, I coated the firewall with some fresh paint, it was very ugly before if you look back a few posts. The under body deadener has been sprayed too, tomorrow the chassis goes back in!

A major milestone today, that chassis is in and I have started connecting everything up. Also put new feet on her today, yes! Guess what goes in next?

Yeah! Looking good, now it's going to be a race to see whose car is done first yours or Critters

Critters man is working fast, I expect another four weeks on my end. Can Paul have Dereck's car done in that time?

We're pushing a deadline...have to reapply 20th may for couple weeks extension to finalize car..customs and transport...l envy Garry as he has none of this to deal with....in the end it's not a matter of who finishs first as both builds were diffrent...
What realy matters is 4 x71 GTS hit the road this summer along with the 70 ..6 bbl gt...can only be good for C Bodys ect and recondition of the cars themselfs
Gona be a banner year for our cars this year...gona be the year of the boat

The firewall looks great.

I hope the tranny refresh goes smoothly. Are you beefing it up at all? Kevlar or kickdown upgrade to higher ratio etc?

The transmission is just getting a freshen up with seals, I checked the sediment in the pan and while there was a slight film of dark grey there was no sludge and only the smallest metal fleck in the fluid in the pan only, the fluid that came out of the valve body is nice and clear and red and has no burnt smell to it. Since the car won't be driven hard at all, I don't feel the need to upgrade anything in it. The original stuff does a good job as it is.
