Worn out distributor?

Did your old distributed have a tin tag behind one of the screws with a part number on it? And if so did you keep it?
sorry to hear about the continuing problem. You have or haven't replaced the fusible link?

Sorry about starting another thread. Yes I am keeping the old distributor it has the the adjustment for the dwell angle. It was just a $10 core definitely worth that.
 
I don't know if anyone mentioned it in the other thread or not(I didn't read the whole thing), but the specs. for the stock fuel pump for your car is a maximum of 5 PSI at 500 rpm. When you have too much pressure it overcomes the needle and seat in the carburetor and the carburetor is constantly flooding the motor with gas, which is not only hard on your gas mileage, but will also f@ck your motor up. 10 PSI is way too much.
